Aambe Zhoosgagedaa (Come, Let's Paint!)

Virtual Paint Night Sessions

AN EVENING OF PAINTING AND STORYTELLING

Artists sharing their knowledge, stories, and providing an Anishinaabe perspective to creating and practice.

Come join us and a featured Anishinaabe artist for an evening of painting. This will be a live virtual session that will allow participants to follow along with the artist to create a work while listening to them share a story or a teaching.

Each month we will host and highlight a different artist with a different story and their way of creating.

Please stay tuned for the artist and date announcement.

Upcoming Session

Aanii, Boozhoo kina weya,
We are pleased to announce and open registration for our third Aambe Zhoosgagedaa (Come, Let's Paint!) social.
In this month's session, we are excited to be featuring Anishinaabe artist, Nick Cywink. Nick is a landscape painter who uses natural found or harvested objects such as, rocks, geodes, and birch bark as his canvas to create natural and realistic paintings of the land utilizing the unique traits, knots, curves, and colors of the support he paints on. For our upcoming Aambe Zhoosgagedaa paint social, Nick will be painting on birchbark.
He will be facilitating this event on June 24, 2021, at 6pm via Zoom.
We have 25 kits available that include: A sheet of harvested birch bark, black, white and raw umber acrylic paint, and a paintbrush package. Our art kits are available for UCCMM Community Members or local purchase only (Manitoulin area) and will be available for pick-up at the OCF or local delivery (within the Manitoulin area).
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. Here's the link to purchase via our Shopify
